The NEW 2013 smart fortwo

     The smart fortwo has been out since 1997 in  Europe. I first started with smart the year the cars were released in the United States in 2008 and have been there ever since.

     The smart fortwo has not much of a body style change until 2013. We redesigned the interior, changed the side skirts and rear/front apron to painted, and changed the wheels from 9-spoke to 12-spoke for the Passion Coupe and Passion Cabriolet. The engine has and will still remain the same.

     You can see clearly the newly sculpted fenders and side skirts. The design of the front end truly gives the smart a more aggressive and sporty look. Our grill still remains the shape of a 'smile' which is what the smart car is known for. The smart emblem has moved from the hood to the front grill. The front grill is now upright. All of the grills from 2013 on will be silver. They really stand out against any paint color and give it a clean feel.

     Take a look at the rear. The rear apron is similar to that of a Brabus. However, you do not have the dual exhaust. This photo shows an example of some optional wheels for the smart Passion Coupe or Cabriolet. The matte grey color is new for 2013.

     One of my favorite optional features Mercedes-Benz added to the new smart fortwo's is the crystal grey leather. When I first built the cars to order, I had no idea what to expect, because we cannot view the finished product. When the car that I built with the crystal grey leather first came in I feel IN LOVE. It is a high quality 2-toned leather. The dash and doors are now wrapped in leather which is new for the 2013. The previous model year smarts equipped with leather had cloth on the dash and doors.

     Do you want a surround sound, ambient lighting, or a navigation system? Those are all optional features available.

     Our safety is still the best. The 2012 smart hardtops and newer are all now equipped with 8 airbags. That is 1 less than the Mercedes-Benz C-class sedan. The Passion Cabriolets have 6 airbags (you cannot have side curtain airbags with a convertible top). All of the previous model year smarts had 4 airbags. The Mercedes-Benz philosophy that more is better is definitely demonstrated with more airbags.
